When prominent brands from different industries collide, you get something special. This is the case with Albino & Preto and JSP™ along with the care of Standard Issue. These creative giants are coming together to give consumers an experience that feels familiar, but new at the same time. The triumvirate brings you the TDC Collection (tie die camo) which consists of simple garments featuring a loud, but subtle design.
The pieces display a balance between design and color, which is the vision that they had for this project. The idea was to take what JSP™ is known for, simple everyday wear, and incorporating A&P's creative direction with the craftsmanship of Standard Issue. This collection is inspired by sport and function with the goal of transcending limits. Limits of the wearer, limits of how it's worn and who it's made for.
Albino & Preto, better known as A&P, is a very popular martial arts outfitter. With its roots in Jiu-Jitsu, the tastemaker provides goods frequently to its audience numerous times throughout the year. From Jiu-Jitsu kimonos, grappling attire to casual wears from head to toe, A&P covers a lot of product ground. With attention to detail and design, their products never disappoint. Based out of southern California, the company plays a major role in the Jiu-Jitsu community.
Next there is JSP™ which was founded in 2013 by its namesake, Jimmy Gorecki. The former professional skateboarder's resume is extensively eclectic. Much before JSP™, Jimmy skated for Sal Barbier's Aesthetics Skateboards and later in transitioned with the pioneer over to the brand, Zoo York. He also skated for Pharrell Williams's Ice Cream skate team coming on as a veteran skater. On top of that he has been in various director of marketing positions for many different clothing brands and even consulted for the Disney show, Zeke and Luther. JSP™ pays tribute to well, sweatpants, an influential article of clothing that is the standard of being comfy.
Then there is Jarod Lee, one of the two heads at Standard Issue Tees. His background in the clothing industry goes all the way back to the 50’s with his grandfather who started one of the first knitting mill in Korea. Being around clothing manufacturing all his life, Jarod inevitably developed a knack for attention to detail. The other head is director of marketing, if you haven't guessed it by now it's none other than Jimmy Gorecki.
Jarod himself practices jiu-jitsu and loves it so much that it's something he shares and practices with his wife and daughter. Jimmy, on the other hand, was an avid tae kwon do practioner who earned his red belt before moving on to Greco Roman and Freestyle wrestling. Because of his background in these martial arts, Jimmy was able to see and understand the beauty of Jiu-Jitsu that Jarod sees.
The appreciation for the martial arts makes this collaboration between a A&P, JSP™ and Standard Issue a seamless one. The TDC Collection is an embodiment of the three brands' vision and creative prowess.
